The standards do not change with the size of the job. Surfaces are prepared before anything is applied, the property is protected while we work, and the site is left clean at the end of every day.
We work directly with private clients and alongside property and facilities management companies on live sites.

How a project runs
Four stages, the same on every project, so you always know what is happening and what it will cost.
Stage one
Site visit
We look at the property, assess the condition of the surfaces and discuss colours, finishes and timings with you.
Stage two
Fixed quotation
A written price covering everything discussed, with the scope set out clearly. No obligation to proceed.
Stage three
Preparation and application
Protection down, surfaces filled, sanded and primed, then the specified number of coats applied.
Stage four
Inspection
We walk the finished work with you before we leave, and put right anything that needs attention.

Protection first, then paint.
Most decorating problems are preparation problems. Coatings fail because a surface was not cleaned, filled, keyed or primed properly, not because the paint was wrong.
That is where the time goes on our projects, and it is why the finishes hold up. Floors, furniture and fittings are sheeted and masked before a tin is opened.

How much does painting and decorating cost in London?
Cost depends on the size of the area, the condition of the surfaces, the paint specified and how much preparation is required. We provide a fixed written quotation after a free site visit, so the price you agree is the price you pay.
Do you provide free quotations?
Yes. Every quotation is free and carries no obligation. We visit the property, measure up, discuss the options with you and confirm a fixed price in writing.
Which areas do you cover?
Residential work covers London and the surrounding counties including Essex, Kent, Surrey, Hertfordshire and Middlesex. Commercial projects are undertaken throughout the United Kingdom.
Are you insured?
Yes. Prodec Painters Ltd holds public liability insurance and the certificate is available on request before any work begins.
How long does a room take to decorate?
A standard room covering walls, ceiling and woodwork usually takes one to two days, allowing for proper preparation and drying time between coats.
Do we need to move out while you work?
No. We work room by room, protect floors and furniture, keep circulation routes clear and leave the site clean and usable at the end of every day.
Which paints do you use?
We specify trade quality materials from established manufacturers including Dulux, Crown and Farrow and Ball. If you have a preferred brand, colour or finish, we are happy to work to it.
Can a kitchen be resprayed rather than replaced?
In most cases yes. Respraying existing cabinets gives a completely different appearance in two to three days at a fraction of the cost of a new kitchen. We confirm the cabinet type at the site visit.
